Engineering
2018 was the Year of Engineering - an initiative to raise awareness of engineering careers to children. Ocado Engineering chose to be an active partner of this campaign, which included running competitions and arranging trips to their warehouses. Part of this project required a set of graphics that would work with the campaign. Expanding the simple isometric illustrations used elsewhere on the brand worked well alongside the existing aesthetic. These could then be used against relevant articles and posts regarding the involvement with the campaign.
Ocado Engineering liked the initiative so much they wanted to expand it beyond the year. The main way to do this would be via an Instagram account that would follow the life of one of their grid bots (see the Ocado Tech project for more insight on these). Possible styles and uses were investigated to create a template that could be used against a number of different posts. The content structure for the posts was also considered as well as developing the character - B1LL13 (a play on the serial number each bot has on the top).
