Online entities that handle multiple brands (such as supermarkets) often rely on digital events to inspire shoppers. These often take the form of microsites within the main site framework. They allow a platform with a number of categories to explore. They are used not only for major calendar events such as Christmas and Easter, but also social (such as Bake-off and Wimbledon) and offer-based events and themes. Brands can also often fund their own versions, which allow them to create their own branded space. Graze is an example of this as well as 'Al Desko' and 'Discover Something New' which showcase a number of brands in the same space.
The 'Recipes' event was created to raise awareness of the availability of recipes, as well as allowing further exploration into the use of drop-down space. This space can be coded like a new page, which opens up many possibilities. For the 'Recipes' event the choice was made to keep the space simple, as it worked well with the rest of the event layout and conveyed the recipe effectively without creating lots of scrolling.
